The fresh monkfish fillets from Gothenburg, Sweden, are large and a great choice, available year-round. It is a fish caught along the west coast of Sweden.

The fresh monkfish fillets are great to bake in the oven. Season the fillets with lemon, salt, and pepper, and drizzle with olive oil. Bake until the fish is tender and flakes easily with a fork. When served with roasted vegetables and a fresh cold sauce, either our roe sauce or a crème fraîche-based sauce, you have a fantastic dish to be enjoyed.

Monkfish is also great for grilling. Brush the fillets with a BBQ marinade and season with smoked paprika and pepper. Grill until the fish is cooked through and has a slightly charred, smoky flavor.

At the auction, we inspect the various boxes left in the early morning by the fishing boats in Gothenburg, Sweden. We then select the freshest and finest monkfish of the highest quality by meticulously inspecting the fish in the boxes.
